Emily G. Kurtz, MD
MPOWER Performance Institute is pleased to announce that Dr. Emily G. Kurtz has joined its medical team as Medical Director for MPOWER’s Concierge Wellness Programs.
Dr. Kurtz graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor in Science from Wake Forest University and received her Medical Degree from the University Of Tennessee College Of Medicine. Her internship and residency training in Internal Medicine, fellowship training in Cardiovascular Medicine, and Master of Science in Clinical Investigation were completed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt University. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship training in Preventive Cardiology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School and in Cardiovascular Imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She attained ABIM board certification in Internal Medicine in 2003 and Cardiovascular Medicine in 2007. From 2007 to 2016, she practiced cardiology and was a member of the academic faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and the Director of Preventive Cardiology for Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute.
Dr. Kurtz’s clinical practice interests include cardiovascular disease prevention and management, internal medicine and preventive wellness, and noninvasive imaging. She joins the MPOWER Performance Institute with great enthusiasm for using personalized medical care and an emphasis on evidence-based medical and lifestyle wellness to optimize the health of our clients.
Dr. Kurtz is married to Dr. Will Kurtz, and they have three children: Claire, Christian, and Caroline.
