I grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago (home to Six Flags Great America!). I was first introduced to physical therapy my senior year of high school after I tore my ACL playing soccer, which helped me rehab and continue on to play soccer in college. Due to this personal history, I have always wanted to work with athletes, and I furthered my physical therapy specialty with a sports residency from 2016-2018.
Over my 10+ years of practice, I have come to learn that the body takes the path of least resistance; if the body doesn't have to activate a muscle group, it won't. My philosophy is to address those compensation patterns and create an individual program for each patient to address their specific needs and goals for a return to their prior activity level (or improved!). Above all, I hope to apply the knowledge gained throughout my clinical experience and my sports physical therapy residency in order to provide patients with a positive, successful rehabilitation experience.
One of my favorite clinical experiences was when I treated a patient who had been suffering from a hamstring strain for 4 months prior to seeing me. This patient's goal was to return to running recreationally. After 4 weeks of PT and a return-to-run protocol, this patient was able to run pain-free without limitation! It is a privilege to treat all of the amazing patients I have, and to help them get back to what they love.
